Board-Certified Emergency & Critical Care

Carolina Pet Relief

Calm in the storm.

Independent relief and locum coverage for emergency and critical care hospitals across the East Coast — a board-certified specialist who steps in, steadies the team, and holds the floor.

Who's covering your floor

Dr. Sharon Finster

DVM, Dip. ACVECC — Veterinary Criticalist

For roughly two decades I've worked the busiest floors in emergency and critical care, and I founded Carolina Pet Relief to give hospitals something dependable: a board-certified specialist who arrives ready, needs no hand-holding, and steadies the room when it matters most.

That means triaging, stabilizing, and leading from the floor on day one — while supporting the technicians and nurses who keep the place running. The work is intense by nature; my job is to be the calm at the center of it.

I'm based in Western North Carolina and travel to emergency and critical care hospitals along the East Coast.

What I offer

Relief that actually relieves

Full-month coverage

Rather than scattered single shifts, I prioritize continuous coverage — so your team gets consistency, not constant re-onboarding.

Self-sufficient specialist

Board-certified critical care, ready to lead from the floor — no extra supervision, no ramp-up week.

East Coast reach

Emergency and critical care hospitals along the East Coast, traveling from a home base in Western North Carolina.

How I work a shift

Prepare. Perform. Recover. Evolve.

1

Prepare — before the doors open

Learn your protocols, equipment, and team so I'm useful from the first minute, not the first day.

2

Perform — when it counts

Steady triage and critical-care decision-making under pressure, with the floor running calmly around it.

3

Recover — protect the team

Hand off cleanly, debrief what mattered, and leave the staff in a better place than I found them.

4

Evolve — leave it better

Share what worked, teach where I can, and strengthen the systems that keep your hospital resilient.
